Provo Triathlon

We did our first triathlon today down in Provo. It was alot of fun, but some parts were definitely harder than others. I would have to say that we aren't the best swimmers in the world and the group start was not as fun as I had hoped for. Being in that much open water was a little worrisome as it was, then with the start having people on all four sides of you hitting and kicking you, made it a little scarier. After the a hundred yards or so when everyone spread out a little, my breathing calmed down and it was enjoyable the rest of the way. It was a half mile swim, 13 mile bike ride, and 3.2 mile run. The overall standings went me, Erin, Cody, then my dad finishing strong in the back of the pack. But Erin won the swim and my dad was 3rd all the way until the run when Cody caught and passed him. Overall I thought it was alot of fun going out and doing that. It was a fun day and we followed it up by going to Nephi for brunch and to celebrate an early fathers day.

The wetsuits and swim caps were definitely not flattering, but they worked nice.

On June 1st at 6:50 in the morning we welcomed the newest member of our family. Abbigail Gray Mortensen. We were going to just name her abby but with much pushing from Madison we decided we would name her abbigail and call her abby. She weighed 7 lbs 1 ounce, and was 18 inches long. She has lots of hair which is unusual for our family. She is very healthy and the kids are so excited to have a new sister.
