Family Home Evening

We decided to carve pumpkins for family home evening last monday night. The kids were very excited even though they didn't really get to do much carving. They drew the faces on the pumpkins and brady and I carved them out. Madi was not happy with not being able to carve so she colored all over her pumpkin after it was all said and done. Hunter then followed suit and colored his pumpkin as well. After we were done carving pumpkins we decorated sugar cookies for desert. All in all a very fun family night.

Madi's sleeping habits

So madi has decided that sleep is not for her. There are days when she doesn't think she needs a nap or needs to go to bed. This particular night she didn't think she needed to go to bed. We had put the kids to bed and had gone downstairs to watch tv. About nine o'clock brady thought he heard something and looked upstairs to find this. She had gotten out of bed but didn't say anything to us, becasue, if she gets out of bed we take away the binki. Instead she decided to sleep at the top of the stairs. She is so stubborn, she gets it from her dad!

Cornbelly's

We took the kids to this place called cornbelly's at thanksgiving point. Uncle bryson, Aunt lindsey and baby kaleb came along. It was a way fun activity. My kids had so much fun! They played for about four hours and cried when we had to leave. They had a huge corn maze that we all got seperated in Madi and I got lost the longest, she was taking her sweat time. Hunter and brady ran off at the begining and we lost lindsey and bryson about half way through. After we went through the corn maze we went to the slides to paly and ran into our friend izzy. Hunter was very happy to have a friend there. Him and izzy ran around togehter for quite awhile. They had these jumping pillows, wagon rides, this slide area and much, much more. It was way fun and we decided that it would be a yearly event!

Sunday Bears Game

So Sunday was our last day and it was finally a really nice day. We watched the Bears play the Lions. I ended up buying a seat by myself cause it was a better price and a better seat by buying a single seat. I ended up on the 13th row in back of the end zone. It was pretty awesome to be that close to the action. The first half went back and forth and was really cool. The second half started with a kick return by the Bears for a touchdown and the Lions never really recovered from it and kind of got blown out the second half.

Overall a very fun vacation and I would have to say that Chicago it was really cool city. I especially liked the simplicity of the subways and trains to get anywhere you need to go and for cheap.

Mancation again

Ok got distracted by having to take the kids to get flu shots. So anyway, Saturday morning was pretty nice and we decided to explore Chicago. We started out going to the top of Sears (Willis) Tower. You wouldn't think it would be hard to find the huge building, but it took us a while, but we finally found it. It was pretty cool seeing the view from up there.

After that we sort of walked around all the parks and saw what Chicago had to offer. We lost Cody pretty quickly, he was sick of walking and went back to the hotel. A little bit later Brett and Bev decided to take a break so we were down to me, Eric, and my dad. We ended up walking about 15 miles that day at least. They also had a free country music festival at one park and we watched Leeann Womack sing along with some famous country song writers sing some songs that they wrote. Then we watched Miranda Lambert. Unfortunately it had started raining again by this time which made that show a bit cold, but it was pretty fun. After that I was pretty tired from walking and we went back to the hotel and sat in the hot tub and rested up for the football game on Sunday.

Mancation 2009

This is Brady here and I'm learning how to do this blogging crap. Not real interested in learning but I had to post about mancation. So here it is. When we got to Chicago it was raining. That first night we went to the Cubs game and they were playing the Pirates. We got there way early to watch batting practice, but with all the rain, they canceled batting practice so we just sat and waited for two hours for the game to start. Not real worth the wait because it rained worse and they canceled the game after 3 innings. The next day was a day game for the Cubs and they played the D-Backs. We got to watch batting practice this time and Troy got two home run balls, Cody got (kept) 1, I believe he got 2 others, but at the expense of little kids and he gave them to the kids. And my dad got one. Pretty fun game, it was cold and rained off and on the whole game, but was still awesome to be at Wrigley field.
