Christmas

Here are some pictures of our christmas. This one was just to show all the presents that my kids got this year. Santa spoiled them a bit.

They were excited about thier glitter bouncy balls.

Here is the kitchenette that madi got for christmas.

My family christmas party was on christmas eve and after opening gifts between the children we went out to pull the kids on a sled with my parents four wheeler. Hunter had been excited all week for grandpa to pull him on the four wheeler. THank goodness the weather was great!

Christmas program

Every year my preschool and daycare combine to do a christmas program. THis year was a success, Hunter decided to shed the shy and say his parts. We were so proud of him, he is so shy he usually won't get in front of the crowd and do his part but he was very brave this year. Madi, who isn't shy of course said her part no problem.

After the program we have a special guest come. Hunter was excited to tell santa what he wanted for christmas. As you can tell madi was not so excited.

Before the program. Madison wouldn't let us take her picture and hunter wouldn't take a serious picutre.

Hunters first snowman for 09 Winter

Hunter was so proud of himself. Brady and I, well brady was shoveling the walks after a big winter storm and hunter decided to build his own snowman. He got almost all of it done by himself. The snow was really heavy so we had to lift the sections on for him, but other than that he did it all himself.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was spent with both families this year and was a blast. We started out playing a Turkey bowl with our ward. Brady and hunter had fun while me and madi froze on the sidelines. After that we came home to get ready for the rest of the day. We started out our eating at my mothers first. It was a quiet dinner with only my family and my sister lindsey's family. Travis later joined the party but eating was just the couple of us. Hunter and his daddy played football at grandma carol's. Madi played until she fell then wanted nothing to do with football. After we ate at my mom's we headed to Grandma tamz house. They had already eaten so we just hung out and later ate pie. We later played a game of rumikub, which I found out ron is a cheater. The kids were excited to have a sleepover that night while mommy and daddy went out black friday shopping.

Halloween

Halloween this year was pretty busy for us. It started about a week before Halloween and lasted until late Halloween night. Hunter had a preschool Halloween party, Madi had a daycare party. We went to the Legacy center Halloween party as well as my mom's and Erin and Cody's house. The kids had a blast and loved every minute. My mom's party was the Monday before Halloween. The kids had a ball they play games and ate lots of treats. The first game they played was a doughnut eating contest, second a mummy wrapping contest that turned into a toilet paper fight. We went to Cody's house Halloween day to see baby Cohen in his costume. He is the dragon in the middle of my prince and princesses. Brady and I dressed up but forgot to get pictures of the whole family together. Brady was the king, I was the queen and then kids were are prince and princesses.

Family Home Evening

We decided to carve pumpkins for family home evening last monday night. The kids were very excited even though they didn't really get to do much carving. They drew the faces on the pumpkins and brady and I carved them out. Madi was not happy with not being able to carve so she colored all over her pumpkin after it was all said and done. Hunter then followed suit and colored his pumpkin as well. After we were done carving pumpkins we decorated sugar cookies for desert. All in all a very fun family night.

Madi's sleeping habits

So madi has decided that sleep is not for her. There are days when she doesn't think she needs a nap or needs to go to bed. This particular night she didn't think she needed to go to bed. We had put the kids to bed and had gone downstairs to watch tv. About nine o'clock brady thought he heard something and looked upstairs to find this. She had gotten out of bed but didn't say anything to us, becasue, if she gets out of bed we take away the binki. Instead she decided to sleep at the top of the stairs. She is so stubborn, she gets it from her dad!

Cornbelly's

We took the kids to this place called cornbelly's at thanksgiving point. Uncle bryson, Aunt lindsey and baby kaleb came along. It was a way fun activity. My kids had so much fun! They played for about four hours and cried when we had to leave. They had a huge corn maze that we all got seperated in Madi and I got lost the longest, she was taking her sweat time. Hunter and brady ran off at the begining and we lost lindsey and bryson about half way through. After we went through the corn maze we went to the slides to paly and ran into our friend izzy. Hunter was very happy to have a friend there. Him and izzy ran around togehter for quite awhile. They had these jumping pillows, wagon rides, this slide area and much, much more. It was way fun and we decided that it would be a yearly event!

Sunday Bears Game

So Sunday was our last day and it was finally a really nice day. We watched the Bears play the Lions. I ended up buying a seat by myself cause it was a better price and a better seat by buying a single seat. I ended up on the 13th row in back of the end zone. It was pretty awesome to be that close to the action. The first half went back and forth and was really cool. The second half started with a kick return by the Bears for a touchdown and the Lions never really recovered from it and kind of got blown out the second half.

Overall a very fun vacation and I would have to say that Chicago it was really cool city. I especially liked the simplicity of the subways and trains to get anywhere you need to go and for cheap.

Mancation again

Ok got distracted by having to take the kids to get flu shots. So anyway, Saturday morning was pretty nice and we decided to explore Chicago. We started out going to the top of Sears (Willis) Tower. You wouldn't think it would be hard to find the huge building, but it took us a while, but we finally found it. It was pretty cool seeing the view from up there.

After that we sort of walked around all the parks and saw what Chicago had to offer. We lost Cody pretty quickly, he was sick of walking and went back to the hotel. A little bit later Brett and Bev decided to take a break so we were down to me, Eric, and my dad. We ended up walking about 15 miles that day at least. They also had a free country music festival at one park and we watched Leeann Womack sing along with some famous country song writers sing some songs that they wrote. Then we watched Miranda Lambert. Unfortunately it had started raining again by this time which made that show a bit cold, but it was pretty fun. After that I was pretty tired from walking and we went back to the hotel and sat in the hot tub and rested up for the football game on Sunday.

Mancation 2009

This is Brady here and I'm learning how to do this blogging crap. Not real interested in learning but I had to post about mancation. So here it is. When we got to Chicago it was raining. That first night we went to the Cubs game and they were playing the Pirates. We got there way early to watch batting practice, but with all the rain, they canceled batting practice so we just sat and waited for two hours for the game to start. Not real worth the wait because it rained worse and they canceled the game after 3 innings. The next day was a day game for the Cubs and they played the D-Backs. We got to watch batting practice this time and Troy got two home run balls, Cody got (kept) 1, I believe he got 2 others, but at the expense of little kids and he gave them to the kids. And my dad got one. Pretty fun game, it was cold and rained off and on the whole game, but was still awesome to be at Wrigley field.

Lagoon

We went to lagoon for labor day end of summer party. We went with the entire gray family. The only person missing was baby kiera. Her parents didn't think that it would be fun to bring a new born to lagoon all day. We had a blast, the kids had a very big blast. They loved being able to ride all the rides with thier cousins. Kaitlin and Cameron loved riding the big rides, Brady and I only made on some of the big rides. Then to top off the great day we ended it with firehouse! I forgot my camera at home so we have no pictures of how cute all the kids were together.

Hunter playing Soccer

Hunter has had two soccer games now and seems to like playing. The first game he was a little timid and didn't run after the ball that much. We were just impressed he was out there and not crying for one of us. The second game he was much more active in the game. He went after the ball and did great. We were all very proud of him, especially madi who tells everyone we see that hunter plays soccer!

Hunter stood looking like this for most of the first game.

Isn't he cute!

1000 Warriors Race

Trying to get refueled so he could make it up little cottonwood canyon.

Heading up Suncrest.

This was brady before he headed up the alpine loop.

Cody and brady before the race started at 6:30 in the morning.

The big race is finally over and was much harder than anyone had expected. Even though it was extremely difficult brady pushed through despite his body not wanting to and finished the race. For those of you who don't know about the race it is called the 1000 warriors. It is a 96 mile race and an 11,000 ft climb. BRUTAL. It starts in park city and goes up and around jordanelle. It then goes down into midway and down provo canyon. The riders then go over alpine loop, Sundance and then up little cottonwood canyon. Again BRUTAL. Brady did really good and was able to push through the pain until about 1 or 2 miles up little cottonwood and then his body hit a wall. After some rest and walking he was able to get on his bike and finish the last two miles. We were all very proud of him and his brother cody who did the race with him! I don't have any pictures of him crossing the finsh line because I was walking up the mountain. Luckily his mother was at the top and got some pictures.
